October – June

Recommended Visitor Period

October to June is generally considered a suitable period to visit VGDS, as river conditions during these months can make wildlife observation — including dolphin sightings — easier. Outside this window, monsoon-driven changes in water level and flow can affect river safaris and visibility.

Conditions can still vary from year to year and week to week. Visitors are encouraged to confirm current river and safari conditions with the visitor centre before travelling.
